ICHF’s Roy Morris Selected as the AAMI Foundation & ACCE’s Robert L. Morris Humanitarian Award

The AAMI Foundation & ACCE’s Robert L. Morris Humanitarian Award honors an individual or group whose humanitarian efforts have applied healthcare technology to improving global human conditions. The AAMI Awards Committee chose Roy Morris, ICHF’s Director of Biomedical Engineering, for his leadership and dedication to medical instrumentation, service, patient care, patient safety, and overall humanitarian efforts. Roy will be receiving his award at the AAMI Annual Conference & Expo on June 4th in Tampa, FL.

I am honored to just be nominated for this award but to actually to win it is truly amazing! Working with International Children’s Heart Foundation (ICHF) has been one of the greatest experience in my life.  We have made a real difference in this world by educating healthcare professionals in developing countries how to care for their children with congenital heart defects while providing medical equipment, service support along with Biomed training and infrastructure improvements to ensure a sustainable program that one day would carry on independently of ICHF.  It is a legacy that will continue to give long after we’re gone.

ICHF is proud to have Roy as a member of our team, and the work he does is vital to our team. There have been many trips that would have been complete failures had it not been for Roy’s ability to keep us up and running in the OR, ICU, and Cath Lab. We hope you will join us in congratulating him on winning this prestigious award.

Mission Statement

The mission of the International Children’s Heart Foundation (ICHF) is to bring the skills, technology and knowledge to cure and care for children with congenital heart disease in developing nations.  ICHF does this regardless of country of origin, race, religion or gender. Our goal is to make the need for ICHF obsolete. We work toward this goal through our medical mission trips, where we operate on children and educate local healthcare professionals.
